'Llewellyn and His Dog' is a narrative poem written in the early nineteenth century, based on a mediaeval Welsh legend. Because it tells the story of a dog who dies because of a misunderstanding, it has a strong appeal for many students. The poem provides a great vehicle for teaching the concepts of theme and point of view. Below you can download a lesson plan, a copy of the poem and a set of teachers notes.
