Yala National Park in the south of Sri Lanka has one of the highest concentrations of leopard population in the world. On our recent visit to Sri Lanka we were stayed at the Yala Jetwing resort and made two visits to the park. Because leopards are solitary, shy creatures, many people visit Yala without sighting a single leopard. However we were fortunate to see three leopards. The reclining male seen above plus a mother and cub which had just caught some prey.Unfortunately they moved so quickly we did not manage to get a photograph.
